The house stands on a hillside overlooking Magazzini, a little harbour surrounded by a cluster of houses. From this vantage point there is a wonderful panorama looking west over the Gulf of Portoferraio and beyond to Monte Capanne. You can enjoy the breath-taking views, and in particular the sunsets, while you sit on the patio savouring your favourite aperitif.
The house is very welcoming with its Tuscan farmhouse-style, its ample fireplace, well-stocked bookcase, furnishings, pictures, and other objects. This is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a holiday with friends and family in peaceful surroundings just a few minutes’ drive from the island’s bustling town centres.
The little port of Magazzini has a unique atmosphere where time seems to have stood still. A small restaurant beside the quay serves excellent Tuscan food. The water laps beside the tables and rafts of wild ducks swim between the moored boats, adding to the peaceful seaside atmosphere.
Portoferraio is just ten minutes’ drive from the house and is an important historical and artistic destination whose highlights include the Medicean fortress and Napoleon’s winter residence.
You’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to food shopping with a supermarket nearby and local producers where you can buy fruit and vegetables. Enjoy the island’s rich varieties of wine from wineries in the vicinity. In Portoferraio there are larger supermarkets, bakeries and a large weekly market, not to mention the bars, pizzerias, restaurants, other shops and boutiques.
The house is well placed to reach the island’s most beautiful beaches. You can choose between the closest ones, just a few minutes away, and those on the far side of the island.
